E-invoice validator – check Peppol, XRechnung, ZUGFeRD and KSeF files
Check an e-invoice against the official rules for free. You see at once whether it is valid – and if not, which rule it breaks and where in the file.
- Free, no sign-up
- File never leaves your browser
- Official EN 16931 and Peppol rules

XML or ZUGFeRD / Factur-X PDF, up to 15 MB
KSeF FA(3), FA(2) · XRechnung (UBL, CII) · ZUGFeRD / Factur-X · Peppol BIS 3.0 · EN 16931 UBL and CII
Your invoice stays private. The check runs entirely in your browser. The file is not uploaded to our server or stored anywhere – unlike most online validators.
How it works
- Choose a file. Drag the e-invoice (.xml or ZUGFeRD / Factur-X PDF) into the box or click “Choose file”.
- The format is detected. The validator recognises Peppol BIS, XRechnung, ZUGFeRD / Factur-X or KSeF and picks the matching rules.
- Read the result. You get “valid” or a list of errors and warnings, each with the rule ID (e.g. PEPPOL-EN16931-R001), the message and its location in the file.
What is checked
- Peppol BIS Billing 3.0: the EN 16931 business rules plus the official Peppol rules (UBL invoices and credit notes).
- XRechnung (Germany): EN 16931 plus the German national rules (BR-DE) of XRechnung 3.0.
- ZUGFeRD / Factur-X (Germany, France): the XML embedded in the PDF is found automatically and checked against EN 16931.
- KSeF (Poland): FA(3) and FA(2) invoices against the official XML schema of the Polish Ministry of Finance.
Errors make an invoice invalid, and the receiver or the network may reject it. Warnings point to data worth checking, but do not make the invoice invalid.
Frequently asked questions
Is the validator free?
Yes. Check as many invoices as you like – no account, no sign-up.
Is my invoice uploaded?
No. The official rules are loaded into your browser and run there. Your invoice is never sent to a server.
Which rule versions are used?
The current official releases: EN 16931 validation artefacts 1.3.17, XRechnung 3.0.2 (Schematron 2.6.0), Peppol BIS Billing 3.0.21 and the KSeF FA(3) and FA(2) schemas. Every report lists the rules it used.
Does it also check the XML schema (XSD)?
For KSeF, yes – that is exactly what KSeF checks. For Peppol, XRechnung and ZUGFeRD the validator checks the business rules (Schematron), which find most real-world errors. A separate UBL/CII schema check is not included yet.
Can I see the invoice itself?
Yes – open the same file in our e-invoice viewer to see it as a readable invoice and print it or save it as PDF.
